Supporting the Sickle Cell Community Through Awareness, Advocacy, and Education
Many people living with Sickle Cell Disorder face serious challenges beyond their medical condition — including pain dismissal, unconscious bias, and discrimination in healthcare settings and the workplace. These experiences often lead to delayed treatment, emotional distress, and a deep mistrust in healthcare systems.
At The Kindness Venture CIC, we are committed to changing this narrative. We work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, educators, and employers to raise awareness of Sickle Cell Anaemia, challenge stigma, and promote compassionate, informed care.
Through training workshops, storytelling events, lived experience panels, and awareness campaigns, we equip professionals with the knowledge and empathy needed to better support individuals with Sickle Cell.
Our aim is to:
Educate health professionals about the realities of living with Sickle Cell Disorder to build kindness tools and to facilitate improved patient care.
Advocate for patient-centred, timely, and pain-informed care
Empower individuals and families with resources to navigate healthcare and work environments with confidence
Promote inclusive policies that prioritise equity and dignity
By embedding kindness, understanding, and respect into health and workplace systems, we believe we can build a more compassionate society for those affected by Sickle Cell and other chronic conditions.
